  • Romano Gallery Dual Exhibition Draws Inspiration from Nature

    February 6-March 7; Reception February 12, 7 p.m.
    Posted February 10, 2015

The Romano Gallery will feature a dual exhibition from February 6 to March 7, as two artists share their nature-inspired work with the Blair community. In “Flora,” Elizabeth Bisbing presents painted paper collages of wildflowers, as well as two animations. In “Forest,” Mary Schuster draws from her fascination with seed vessels, the cases that contain a plant’s seeds. These forms inspired jewelry that is both functional and an expression of natural form.

  • Class Trips Create a Comprehensive Learning Experience

    Posted January 22, 2015

While it’s possible these days to bring the world into the classroom through technology, Blair teachers are enthusiastic about expanding students’ learning opportunities by traveling to a variety of off-campus destinations. In courses ranging from ceramics to biotechnology, academic field trips amplify in-class learning at Blair by introducing students to working professionals, providing hands-on applications of theoretical concepts and exposing students to fresh ideas that they can apply to their work.
