Welcome to the Fine and Performing Arts section of the website, where you can find descriptions of all of Blair’s music and theatre offerings, as well as art exhibit and performance schedules. 

Blair’s performing arts series presents groups from the Blair community and the outside arts world. Most performances are open to the public, with general seating available. No reservations or advance ticket sales are necessary unless otherwise indicated.


  • Students Experience World-Class Art in New York City

    Fifty Blair fine art students gained a firsthand look at world-class works of art as they toured several iconic New York City museums on December 1. Groups of sophomores, juniors and seniors visited the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Arts and Design, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the experience gave students much to consider for their own work as they viewed some of the finest paintings, drawings and sculpture in the world.

  • English & Music Students Attend Jazz Concert at NJPAC

    Nearly 30 Blair students enjoyed an evening of jazz and readings from the works of novelist Ralph Ellison when they attended “Jazz in the Key of Ellison” at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Sponsored by Blair’s performing arts and English departments, the November 1 trip afforded students in English teacher Douglass Compton’s “Harlem Renaissance” class and the School’s Jazz Ensemble the opportunity to experience a words-and-music tribute to the African American author performed by trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, singer Patti Austin, and other renowned musicians and speakers.
