Peter Curran, Blair’s assistant head of school for enrollment and communications, joined the faculty in 2011 following four years as dean of students at Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs. He completed his undergraduate work in art history and French at Bowdoin College in 2001 and earned a MEd in higher education administration at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education in 2005. During his time at Blair, Peter has also served as dean of students, dean of admission and English teacher.
Earlier in his career, Peter taught and coached at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, and Seven Mile School on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation in Arizona. In the mid-2000s, he served as dean of students at The American School in Switzerland (TASIS). Peter is co-founder of The Dean’s Roundtable, a nonprofit that promotes best practices among independent school deans of students and assistant heads, and a trustee at North Country School in Lake Placid, New York. He lives in Jenkins House with his wife, Sarah, their twin children, Grace and Toby, and chocolate labs, Apache and Siena.
