It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Blair Academy and invite you to get to know our diverse, dynamic and inclusive community. Fifteen years ago, I fell in love with Blair during my first campus visit, so I know that nothing can replace the feeling of touring our historic hilltop and meeting our students and teachers in person. But our website will give you an excellent overview of the robust academic curriculum and distinctive programs that make the Blair experience truly transformative.

With this always in mind, the foundation of everything we do at Blair begins with building meaningful relationships. Our faculty members inspire students to develop their intellectual curiosity and challenge them to step outside of their comfort zones and discover new passions. Blair students live and learn in a service-minded, global community where they matter, make meaning of their experiences and establish relationships that last a lifetime. We are purposeful about fostering these connections and building a deep sense of belonging. Being a midsize boarding school allows us to know each student individually, and our dual-advisor program is a hallmark of our student-centered approach to education.

Of course, in today’s increasingly complex and interconnected world, superior academic preparation for college is not enough to succeed. That is the competitive advantage of a Blair education: It does far more than develop academic skills at a pivotal time in adolescents’ lives. We are intentional in educating our students about the power of collaboration, connection, ethical decision-making  and empathy—all with the goal of inspiring students to be resilient, self-aware lifelong learners who go on to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.

Blair students learn to work in teams, communicate and develop their moral character. Our co-curricular programs include participants at every level, and we celebrate students’ exploration of new interests. Blair graduates enter college with confidence in their ability to express themselves, to take smart risks, to solve problems and to make values-based decisions.
