Athletes Honored at Winter Sports Awards

On Wednesday, the winter sports season came to a close with an awards assembly celebrating both the teams’ collective achievements and the outstanding contributions of individual team members. Captains and senior leaders recounted highlights from their seasons, while coaches presented their awards. Congratulations to all teams for their exceptional performances throughout the season, along with the award winners:
Zeynep Ozel ’24, recipient of the Brooks Prize for girls’ basketball; Jayden Williams ’24, Eric Ihekwaba ’24 and Lukas Schmid ’24, honored with the Leroy Haskins Prize for boys’ basketball; Jason Zhao ’24 and Piper Summers ’24, who received the Dr. Rick Clarke Trophy for swimming; Charlotte Devereux ’24 and Charlotte Russell ’24, recognized with the Blair Girls’ Squash Prize, alongside Owen Shin ’24, recipient of the Blair Boys’ Squash Prize; Petra Taylor ’24 and Isaac Greene ’24, recipients of the Winter Track Award for indoor track; Courtney Payne ’25 and Jackson Cooper ’26, honored with the Merit Ski Award for skiing; Paul Ognissanti ’24, recipient of the Lieberman Prize, and Carter Neves ’24 awarded the James C. Jamieson Award for wrestling.

The Game is here! Each year, the Blair community comes together for a campus-wide game of tag, spanning several weeks, to inject energy and excitement into the colder winter months. Each week, The Game Makers (Blair’s Senior Class Council) introduce new twists and turns to the competition, keeping players on their toes as they attempt to outwit, outplay and outlast.

To ensure sustainability, Blair has set a long-term goal of raising at least $1 million for the wrestling endowment.
