This past weekend, Blair’s athletics operations manager Danielle Costantino was awarded the Booker Kilgore Award at the National Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The award is presented annually at the National Athletic Equipment Managers Association Conference and was created in honor of Booker Kilgore, a high school equipment manager with exemplary character and more than 30 years of experience in the industry.
Since 2019, Mrs. Costantino has served Blair as the athletics operations manager. On top of her responsibilities of managing the equipment for Blair’s 32 varsity and 22 sub-varsity programs, she manages the operations of coordinating schedules for teams, securing officials for games, and providing athletic itineraries for the faculty and staff.
“Danielle has been the foundation of all our successes as an athletic department,” said Paul Clavel ’88, Blair’s Director of Athletics. “She not only excels at managing the operations of our teams and athletic equipment, but does so with the utmost professionalism and integrity. I am thrilled for her to receive this prestigious award. This is a well-deserved recognition and the Blair athletics program is lucky to have her.”
In addition to her professional duties, Mrs. Costantino volunteers as a coach for elementary-aged athletes in soccer, basketball and softball. She also participates in the “Letters Against Isolation” initiative, writing to residents of local rehabilitation centers and nursing homes.
“I am truly honored to receive the Booker Kilgore Award,” said Mrs. Costantino. “To be recognized in his name is deeply meaningful. There are so many hard-working and dedicated people in the community and I am humbled by the support.”
