“Marriage of Two Views” will be on display in The Romano Gallery from September 30 to October 26, featuring the photographs of Ralph Gabriner and paintings of Dena Schutzer. In this exhibit, the artists, who are husband and wife, explore their individual responses to street and domestic life through shapes, color, form and “the geometries of life.”
Mr. Gabriner is a well-established art photographer, whose work has been acquired by numerous private collectors. He is also the owner of the Ralph Gabriner Studio, which specializes in photographing jewelry for the custom art jeweler and studios that manufacture custom work. Mr. Gabriner’s photos have appeared on the covers of such publications as Metalsmith, Lapidary Journal and Lark Books.
Ms. Schutzer chairs the art department and teaches art at Abraham Joshua Heschel High School in New York City. During her career, she has created editorial illustration for magazines and newspapers, illustrated children’s books, and worked as a film editor and still photographer. She has exhibited in many group and solo shows, including most recently at the Bowery Gallery in New York City. Ms. Schutzer holds a BFA from the State University of New York at Purchase, an MFA in film from the Yale University School of Art and an MA in art education with certification from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
Mr. Gabriner and Ms. Schutzer joined the Blair community for an artists’ reception on October 10 in The Romano Gallery.
