Blair Academy is proud to announce the 2019 spring athletic award winners. This year's recipients are extremely deserving, as they set new milestones for Blair’s athletic programs.

"I am very proud of these student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Paul Clavel '88. "The spring season can feel like a sprint and be exhausting. Not only did these athletes perform well throughout the season, they also elevated their teammates' performances through their grit, perseverance and hard work.

‘Doc G’ Remembered at Coaches vs. Cancer Game

Before the varsity boys’ basketball team took to the court for Blair’s annual Coaches vs. Cancer game on December 7, the community paused to remember Gerard A. Giuricich Jr., the School’s long-serving athletic facility manager who passed away on November 30. “Doc G”—a “true Buccaneer” as noted on the buttons worn by every attendee at the game— was beloved and respected by a generation of Bucs. Throughout his 23-plus years at Blair, he cared deeply for student-athletes, ensuring that every team and player was equipped for success, and loyally supporting the Bucs from the sidelines in all seasons.
