Blair's boys' cross country team had their work cut out for them with a tough field on the line for the annual NJISAA Prep A State Championship. This year, Blair had many boys running more tightly bunched than in recent years, and pushing one another to greater success.
Blair was led by Weston Trish '25 who passed several key opponents to strengthen Blair’s position overall. Eric Bocanegra '27 dueled out the last 100 meters with a Hightstown harrier, with Eric winning the contest with his grit. They finished at 18:37 and 18:50 respectively. Next for Blair came freshmen phenoms Eddie George '28 and Breck Eagle '28 finishing strongly for Blair at 19:00 and 19:01. Following Breck were Bucs Luke Antoneck '26 and Tony Ni '25 at 19:39 and 19:47 respectively, with both boys running hard in the unseasonably warm weather.
Rounding out the top seven for the Bucs was Luke Hosonitz '28 at 20:40. Blair’s fifth-place team finish overall today belies the hard effort and smart running that many of the Blair harriers did today. Onward to MAPLs on Saturday and then Peddie Day on November 9!
