The boys’ basketball team went on a dominant run this past week, securing impressive victories over Lawrenceville and College Achieve, before a championship win over The Patrick School to claim the NJ Prep Open Championship.
Delivering a strong performance against Lawrenceville, Jaen Chatman ’26 tallied 21 points. Mayo Soyoye ’25 contributed a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Brendan Oliver ’25 added 10 points and four steals. Jack Bailey ’25 played a well-rounded game, tallying nine points, five rebounds and five assists.
Jack also had an impressive performance against College Achieve, with 20 points and four rebounds. Deron Rippey ’26 made a big impact with 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Jaen and Brendan each added 13 points. Mayo recorded another double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in game two heading into the Championship matchup against The Patrick School.
The boys’ basketball team put up an 88-75 win over The Patrick School, securing the Prep Open Championship title. Jaen led the scoring with 25 points, while Deron had an outstanding performance with 16 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and three steals. Brendan and Mayo each contributed 13 points, with Mayo continuing his strong inside presence. Jack added 12 points, rounding out a dominant team effort.
