Three Blair wrestlers became USA Wrestling junior national champions this past week in Fargo, North Dakota. In the USA U-16 tournament, incoming freshmen Leo DeLuca '25 and William Henckel '25 had dominating performances leading them to titles. Weighing in at 113 pounds, DeLuca only gave up two points in his six wins, five of which resulting in tech falls. Henckel (145 lbs.), won seven matches in order to earn a championship, facing off against top competitors from around the country.
Returning buccaneer TJ Stewart '22 was the third champion for Blair, defeating the #3 nationally ranked wrestler with an impressive 8-4 score in the 182 lb final. Throughout the match, Stewart was able to get ahead quick, going up 6-0 in the first period and never losing the lead.
In addition to the Blair champions, Danny Wask '22 (152 lbs.) was able to wrestle in the finals after six straight wins.
