The Blair varsity field hockey came out strong in their home opener on Saturday against Somerville High School, scoring six goals in the first half to ultimately win 6-0. The game was a full team effort, marked by tenacious play, patient defense, and beautiful passing to create scoring opportunities. Goals were notched by Jess Pasquali '21, who drew first blood, assisted by newcomer Emma van der Veen '21 on a corner. Van der Veen found the back of the cage three times, once assisted by Sofia Kasparik '21 and captain Kate Antonelli '20.

Tireless work in the midfield by captain Jordyn Humphrey '20 and Mia Leddy '23 were instrumental in keeping pace of play fast and supporting the attack. Captain Jordan Ullman '20 lead the defense with a stellar effort, supported by Sam Antonelli' 22 and Olivia Mohlmann '21. Together they made easy work for starting goalkeeper Liv Kreider '21, who made three saves to earn the shut out.

The Bucs are energized by this fantastic team performance and look forward to hosting Princeton Day School on Wednesday.
