The varsity football team opened their season this past Saturday at The Kiski School. Playing for the first time since 2019, the Bucs dominated the entire game securing a 25-0 shutout victory and winning the first game of the season.
Offensively, the rushing attack was spread out amongst many players. Jude Buchanan '22 led the rushing game with 37 yards on 8 carries. Following him was Yaneik Gallego '24 with 18 yards on four carries. Quarterback Daniel Shuster '22 went five for ten with 92 passing yards and two touchdowns. In addition, he had a rushing touchdown along with 13 rushing yards. Mike Higgins '22 led the receivers with 50 receiving yards on two catches with a touchdown. Keith Delaney '22 had one catch for 13 yards.
Defensively, Jude Buchanan '22 led once again, recording five tackles and two sacks and an interception. Moussa Kane '23 also got an interception that led to a touchdown along with a forced fumble. Other notable Blair defenders include Keith Delaney '22, Archer Benedict '22, and Royce Mulholland '23.
The next game for the Bucs will be on Saturday, September 18th, as they host Capital Prep of Connecticut for their first home game of the season.
