The Blair skiing team had their first race of the season at Mountain Creek this past Monday, where the girls' team finished in 1st place and the boys' team finished in 3rd.
All six girls placed in the top half and scored top 20 points. Chloe Rayer '20 led the way with an impressive 2nd place finish. Nina Sigety '19, Kendra Payne '20, and Avery Lehman '21 all earned top ten spots with a 5th for Nina, 7th for Kendra, and 10th for Avery. Ilyssa Gibson '22 showed the hints speed we saw from her in Utah, earning a 16th place in her first race. Emia Musabegovic '20 followed her with a 17th place.
The Varsity boys team finished with strong results from all of the guys. Kirk Holton '20 was the fastest Blair racer on the night, finishing 6th overall. Jun Park '19 was just behind him in 10th. Max O'Halloran '19, Niall Sheridan '19, and Aaron Gibson '20 pushed each other to ski tough, as they earned 14th, 15th, and 16th respectively. These were fantastic results for varsity newcomers Niall and Aaron, as they have improved tremendously throughout the early season. Simon Dong '19 had a strong first run for the Bucs as well.
The next race for the Bucs will be on Tuesday, January 22nd, at Mountain Creek.
