The Blair ski team went to Mountain Creek this past Thursday and earned four trophies, winning the New Jersey Non-Public State Championship. Earning 2nd place in both the GS and Slalom races, this victory marks their second Non-Public state championship in three years.
Led by seniors Grace Rayer '19 and Nina Sigety '19, this squad skied incredibly well this year to earn an overall record of 44-6 in their eight races this season. Juniors Chloe Rayer '20 and Kendra Payne '20, Sophomore Avery Lehman '21, and freshman Ilyssa Gibson '22 rounded out the team with top performances as well.
The boys skied well in both the GS and Slalom races, earning 7th place in each event and 8th place overall. Led by seniors Junhan Park '19, Niall Sheridan '19, Max O'Halloran '19 and Simon Dong '19, the 10-man squad had many great races. Juniors Kirk Holton '20, Aaron Gibson '20, and Naivee Ni '20, sophomores John Boelhoff '21 and George Sigety '21, and freshman George Gan '22 also skied well.
The team's final challenge will be today, March 1st, as eight varsity races will compete in the Race of Champions at Mountain Creek.
