Blair Swimming achieves personal bests at Easterns

This past weekend, the Blair swim team made their way to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championships, one of the most competitive high school meets in the nation. 

On Friday, all four of our relays qualified for finals. The girls’ medley relay consisted of Katie Robinson '23 (34.15), Riley Bacinski '25 (33.87), Piper Summers '25 (29.32), Allie Wolff '24 (27.85). Impressively, Blair's girls 200 freestyle relay finished 22nd overall, with Riley Bacinski leading off in a blistering 25.61 and our other three swimmers posting personal best times: Demi Delapenha '25 (27.14), Katie Robinson (27.53), and Allie Wolff (26.94).

On the boys side, the medley relay touched out Peddie and Pennington’s relays to qualify for finals, with all four of our swimmers posting personal best times in the evening swim. Our freestyle relay finished 19th overall with impressive swims from Ethan Lau '23 (22.47), Jason Zhao '24 (23.35), Ohm Poonsornsiri '23 (23.82), and Will Collins '22 (24.30).

Riley also qualified for finals in the individual 50 freestyle, matching her best time of 25.18 and finishing 23rd, scoring two points for Blair.  

Ethan qualified for the individual medley and finished 20th place, posting a time of 1:58.21, breaking the Blair school record and scoring five points. On Saturday, he also qualified for finals in the 100 Backstroke and finished 10th overall with a time of 51.76, bettering his own school record and scoring 17 points for Blair.
