The Blair track team usually has a schedule that forces them on the road quite. But this past weekend, Blair hosted a track meet with The Hill School, The Pennington School, Faith Christian School, Trinity Christian School, and Belvidere High School, finishing second overall for both boys' and girls'.
They're were notable performances throughout the meet for the Bucs. For the field events, James Hinsperger '20 led things off placing 1st in javelin. Aaron Armitage '21 placed 1st in the discus throw as Ashlyn Alles '20 placed 1st in the long jump. Ashlyn also placed first in the 100 meter hurdles (12.76) and 200 meter run (26.54).
For the running events, Cleary Waldo '19 placed 2nd in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.99. Marty Dericks '22 placed 1st in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:01.42. Senior captain Kerem Ayhan '19 placed 1st in the 400 meter dash with a time 50.79. He also placed 2nd in the 200 meter run (23.02).
Overall, Blair had a boys' team score of 151 and a girls' team score of 158.33. Blair will host the MAPL's this Saturday, May 11th, starting at 12:00 p.m.
