Blair Wrestlers Place at Fargo 2023, Leo DeLuca ’25 Crowned Champion

Recently, the Blair wrestling team had a great showing at the 2023 USA Wrestling Junior and U16 National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota. Leading the way for the Bucs was Leo DeLuca ’25, who dominated the competition and became a Fargo national champion at 120 lbs. He defeated all seven opponents he faced, including the No. 4-ranked wrestler in the country in the finals, where he won 12-0. Overall, Leo outscored his opponents 72-1 throughout the entire tournament.

Additionally, Will Henckel ’25 took second place at 160 lbs. and Sarah Henckel ’26 placed third at 152 lbs. in the junior division. Michael Batista ’27 rounded out the Blair placewinners, placing seventh at 160 lbs. in the U16 division.
