The varsity wrestling team traveled to The Hill School to compete in the MAPL tournament. Blair finished in first place overall, taking home the trophy.
The first dual, against Mercersburg, finished 70-12 Blair. The Blair team had eight wins by pin in this dual, by Ryan Meier ’26 (113), Leo DeLuca ’25 (120), Morgan Edwards ’24 (132), MJ Scialla ’25 (138), Will Henckel ’25 (150), Barry Norman ’26 (157), Peter Snyder ’26 (165), and Roman Martinez ’23 (215).
Blair then took on and beat The Hill School, 54-11. Some outstanding performances include Lorenzo Norman’s ’23 (175) and Josh Anthony’s ’24 (215) wins by tech falls, and Liam Kilrain ’23 (190) win by fall.
The next dual against Lawrenceville ended 69-3 Blair. Blair had 10 wins by fall, from Benji Koch ’26 (113), Ryan Meier ’26 (120), Morgan Edwards ’24 (132), MJ Scialla ’25 (138), Danny Accomando ’25 (144), Barry Norman ’26 (157), Paul Ognissanti ’24 (165), Roman Martinez ’23 (190), Josh Anthony ’24 (215), and Nolan Neves ’23 (285).
Blair’s last dual, against the rival Peddie School, ended 70-12 Blair. There were seven wins by fall in this match, by Ryan Meier ’26 (113), Leo DeLuca ’25 (120), Morgan Edwards ’24 (132), Danny Accomando ’25 (144), Will Henckel ’25 (150), Kaleb Nelson ’25 (165), and Liam Kilrain ’23 (190). Pierce Kopcak ’23 (157) had an impressive performance, winning by tech fall in the second period.
