Boys' Lacrosse defeats Peddie 14-8

Thomas Walker '21 5/15 recap

The varsity boys' lacrosse team defeated the Peddie School on Saturday night by a score of 14-8. Facing off against their longtime rival for the second time this season, the Bucs jumped out to an early lead and did not look back en route to the victory.

Blair had many several stellar performances. Goalie Thomas Walker '21 played his best game of the year in the cage and commanded a defense that kept that Falcon offense at bay. Robert Walker '21, John Hadden '21, Owen Donaghy '21, and Andrew Furciato '21 were the pace setters offensively. Not only did they find the back of the net on multiple occasions, but their tenacious riding and up-tempo transition offense allowed the Bucs to capitalize in unsettled situations before Peddie was able to drop into their zone defense.

The performance of the night, however, came from senior Riley Yee '21. For the second time this year against Peddie, Yee was perfect at the face-off. His dominance allowed the Bucs to control possession and spark the attack. Yee added a goal and an assist to contribute to the offensive output.

The victory brings Blair's record to 5-4 on the season. They are back in action Monday evening at 5:45pm when they take on Newton High School.
