In a tightly contested matchup, the varsity boys’ basketball team finished victorious against St. Thomas More this past weekend, 78-75. Deron Rippey ’26 led the team with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Mayo Soyoye ’25 tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds, shooting an efficient 87% from the free-throw line. Jack Bailey ’25 contributed a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, along with three assists. Jaen Chatman ‘’26 scored 10 points while remaining 100% from the free-throw line.
Along with a dominant win against Mercersburg, controlling the game from start to finish in a 99-75 triumph. Brendan Oliver ’25 tallied 27 points while grabbing eight rebounds, setting the tone for the team. Mayo Soyoye ’25, contributing 17 points and eight rebounds.
Jaen Chatman ’26 was flawless from the free-throw line, tallying 16 points against Mercersburg. Jack Bailey ’25 filled the stat sheet with eleven points, seven rebounds, and six assists, showcasing his all-around impact. Point guard Deron Rippey ’26 tallied nine assists along with 10 points. Callen Murphy ’26 also contributed ten points.
The boys’ varsity basketball team looks to keep their momentum heading into the MAPL play-in tournament on February 13th.
