The Bucs wrestling team delivered a gritty performance in a thrilling matchup against nationally-ranked #7 Delbarton, falling just short in a 30-29 loss. Despite the nail biting loss, the Bucs showed incredible fight throughout the night.
Barry Norman ’26 showcased his dominance with a 20-5 technical fall, while William Henckel ’25 made quick work of his opponent, securing a pin in just 42 seconds. Joseph Schinder ’27 had a quick pin in just eight seconds, bringing the Bucs right back into the fight, pulling within one point of Delbarton at 19-18.
Mikey Batista ’27 had a 5-4 victory, battling back from a tough position to grind out the win. At 132, Weston Borgers ’28 overcame an 8-1 deficit after the first period to score a thrilling 11-10 victory with a series of takedowns.
With a loss in the heavyweight matchup, Delbarton pulled away with a 30-29 victory.
Looking to bounce back, the wrestling team is heading to Lawrenceville to compete in the MAPL tournament, January 31.
