On a beautiful fall day in early November, Blair's girls' cross country took care of the business of racing at the MAPL Championship at Mercersburg Academy. Despite the course’s uphill start - always a challenge - and a pair of ascents in the first and third miles, the Bucs ran even faster than we had done three days prior in the State Prep race.
Three girls - Ashley Hur '26, Brigette Starrs '25 and Maddie Nicholson 'w8 (in the jv race) ran personal best times by 39 seconds, 50 seconds, and 1:57 respectively; Maia Frank '26 earned all-MAPL honors for her 6th place finish; Marie Sharp '28 and Chandler Wildrick '25 each dropped significant time in their second races back from extended hiatuses attending to other athletic commitments; and Emily Tierney '25 and Natalie Kislin again had a stirring race to the finish line with a runner from The Peddie School, Blair’s traditional rival whom the Bucs will face head to-head next week in the season finale for both teams.
