This past weekend, Blair hosted teams from The Hill School of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, in all sports on a blustery late fall day. With several girls sitting out the race in order to be ready for next week’s MAPL championship competition, Blair ran just four girls on the day.

However, co-captains Betsy Kim '23 and Marty Dericks '22 executed their race strategy to perfection to run their fastest home times of the season to date. They finished 3rd and 4th overall with Renee Tracey '23 in 5th, 12 seconds ahead of Hill’s #3. Hannah Reed '23 was displaced by Hill’s varsity seven, but still made up four places over the final mile to go sub-28 for the first time since her 9th grade year. The girls shared the course with Blair’s boys’ team, who earned a stirring victory over Hill due to the sixth man tiebreaker.

The Blair teams look forward to a second race against them this coming Wednesday when The Hll School hosts the annual MAPL championship race on their own course in Pottstown.
