GXC @ MAPLS 2022 recap

After a couple of tough races at Pennington and the Hill School, Blair was happy to compete in the annual MAPL Championship race. Captain Petra Taylor '24 was again the first Blair girl to finish, averaging 7:12 per mile to cross the line in 22:19. Sophomore Nina Diem '25 was next for the squad, with Renee Tracey '23 being the third Buc across the line. As has become her signature racing style, Renee excelled at maintaining even splits throughout the race, tracking down opponent after opponent as the event unfolded. Next for Blair was Qiya Zhang '23, who adjusted well after a flying start, with Chandler Wildrick '25 coming in at the final scoring position. Ashley Hur '26, who ran step-by-step with Chandler until the final half mile, and Brigette Starrs '25 secured the final two varsity positions for the team.

Blair returns to compete for another championship - the New Jersey Prep States - this Tuesday on their home course in Blairstown, before concluding the season with a dual meet against Peddie the following Saturday.
