Girls' Lacrosse falls short against Lawrenceville
Rhett Moroses

Although the varsity girls' lacrosse team lost to Lawrenceville 12-15 this past Saturday, the team showed tremendous grit against one of the top teams in the MAPL league.

Coming out ready to play, the team was even with Lawrenceville, with 4-4 score halfway through the first half. The Big Red was able to get a few goals in towards the end of the half, resulting in a 5-8 halftime score. Towards the end of the game, Blair suffered from penalties leading to more goals for Lawrenceville.

Leading in goals for the Bucs was Ella Sloan '23 with seven. Zora Bissell '22 had three, followed by Hannah Reed '23 and Skylar Bogdan '22 with one goal each. Defensively, Avery Lehman '21 made clutch saves throughout the game. Blair's defense played great by defending free position penalties that forced shots away from the cage and slowed down Lawrenceville's fast break offense.

The Bucs will play Lawrenceville again on Monday, May 3, at Lawrenceville at 4:15 p.m in the NJISAA Prep A State Semifinals.
