The varsity girls' lacrosse team moves to 6-2 on the season after games against Hill and Hun on the road last week.

On Wednesday, the Bucs traveled to Pottstown, PA to take on The Hill School in a competitive matchup. Despite a tough fight, Blair lost by a score of 17-10. Hill came out strong with three quick draw controls and goals in the first two minutes, but the Bucs settled in and fought back, tying the game at 5-5 with 13 minutes left in the first half to force a Hill timeout. The momentum shifted dramatically, as the Rams went on a 6-0 run to finish out the half-- which would ultimately be the Bucs' downfall. The second half was evenly played, with Blair scoring 5 goals to Hill's 6, but the Bucs could not overcome the deficit created in the first. Blair's defense struggled to shut down the Rams' Hannah Spease, who notched 8 goals on the day. Scoring for the Bucs was provided by Emily Mooney '19, Victoria Benanti '19, Kate Antonelli '20, Jordyn Humphrey '20, and Skyler Bodgan '22, with assists by Jules Thompson '21, Zora Bissel '21, and Humphrey. Goalkeeper Avery Lehman '21 recorded 7 saves on the day behind a strong defensive effort by all.

On Saturday, the team matched up against The Hun School down in Princeton and recorded a solid 13-11 victory in a hard fought contest. The Bucs put forth a strong team effort all over the field, with fantastic defense by Karenna Benanti '19, Victoria Benanti '19, Chloe Rayer '20, Jordan Ullman '21, and Megan Donaghy '22. Goals for the Bucs were provided by Essie Pasternak '19, Emily Mooney '19, Kate Antonelli '20, Jordyn Humphrey '20, and Zora Bissel '21, with assists by Mooney, Pasternak, Antonelli, and Jules Thompson '21. Avery Lehman '21 recorded 6 saves in the goal in a solid performance.

The team looks forward to two home games this week against Kittatinny High School and Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
