Last week, the varsity girls' soccer team earned a thrilling win against Governor Livingston with a final score of 3-2. Governor Livingston opened the scoring with twelve minutes left in the first half. Sammy Stoddard '22 managed to tie the game off a set piece with a beautiful touch on ball. We headed into halftime with a tie.

The second half resumed with a lot of pressure on Blair’s part, but a dominant midfield line and connected nature of Governor Livingston paid off during another counterattack as they took the lead 2-1 with twenty minutes left in the half. Just when it seemed the game may have slipped away from Blair, Melissa Groseibl '22 took a beautiful shot from outside of the box after dribbling a defender and placed it in the bottom right corner.

With the game tied, intensity rose and Blair was awarded a foul after an awesome move by Brynne Grant '24. The free kick was taken by Melissa Groseibl who sneakily played the ball on the ground in the feet of Marisa Snee '22 who placed the ball into the corner with one minute and 14 seconds left in the game. Blair showed a lot of character after being down twice and surely enjoyed the much deserved and fought win.
