This fall season, the girls’ varsity soccer team secured the 2022 MAPL co-championship with Hun School after having only one loss in league play. This championship is Blair’s second in four years, and the players earned it after overcoming a season filled with adversity and challenges. Blair posted an overall record of 10-5, which included some tough opponents around the state.
“Being co-MAPL champs is truly a reflection of this team,” said Cency Middleton, head Blair girls’ soccer coach. “They played and supported one another like a family. It's a reminder that putting the team before any individual needs is the best way to win championships and their infectious positivity and belief in themselves meant that they never ever gave up.”
The team was led by captains Maria Andrinopoulos ’23, Neela Grizzetti ’23, Mallory Allen ’23, and Madison Guiry ’25. Maria earned the Blair Soccer prize during the Fall varsity sports assembly for her outstanding leadership and consistent positive presence on and off the field. Key returners for next season include Brynne Grant ’24, Sara Groseibl ‘26, Gianna Martic ’26 and goalkeeper Sam Kowalick ’25.
