The girls' varsity tennis team headed to Mercersburg Academy this past weekend for the MAPL tournament. Maddie Krzanowski '23 competed in the fourth singles bracket and was the one member on the team with a bye the first round since she was seeded 2nd. She lived up to the expectation placing second in the tournament after a tough semi-finals match coming back from 7-4 to win and make her way to the finals.

Kelsea Mitchell '22 in the second singles bracket placed 3rd winning her first match against Hill who she previously lost against in the season. She then lost her semi finals match against Lawrenceville but came back strong with a win against Mercersburg.

Liz Sterlin '23 in the 3rd singles bracket lost a tough first match but in the back draw she was down 7-4 and came back to win against Hill, who she also previously lost against to place 5th.

Ellie Hyder '23 had a tough draw in the first singles bracket but put up a good fight battling through injuries and Katie Schultz '22 and Kat Smith '22 lost in a close second match for doubles 9-7.

All around, it was a solid performance by Blair and the team plans on taking that energy into Peddie Day.
