This past Saturday, the varsity track and field honored their seniors as they hosted The Hill School, The Pennington School, Belvidere High School, Newton High School, and Kittatinny High School. Blair ended the day with multiple athletes placing in the top three in field events and running events.
For the running events, Williams Antunes ’25 placed first in the boys’ 1600-meter run with a time of 4:48.66. Grant Krueger ’24 came in second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.49. Danny Ndiritu ’25 placed third in the boys' 400-meter hurdles (1:08.28).
Petra Taylor ‘24 took first in the girls’ 400-meter dash (59.63) with Morgan Frame ’24 taking second (1:01.47). Petra (27.04) and Morgan (28.36) also placed first and third in the girls’ 200 meter.
In the boys’ 800 meter run, Isaac Greene ’24 took first place, and Nicholas Rocca ’25 placed third out of 14 runners. Cheyenne Joachim ’25 coming in third (65-01) for the girls javelin, as well as second place (78-10) for girls discus. In the boys’ long jump Mayan Muchugia ’26 and Javieer Chauhan ’26 took the top two spots out of 19 contenders. Michael Lynch ’26 took second place in the boys pole vault (10-00) and Courtney Payne ’25 also placed second (7-06).
The boys and girls both placed first in the 4x400 relay as well as the 1600 sprint medley.
“Saturday's home meet was truly unforgettable as we celebrated our senior class,” said Edward Thornton, Blair’s head track and field coach. “The remarkable impact our seniors have had on this program is undeniable, shaping a lasting team culture for the future. With their legacy in mind, we look forward to the upcoming Penn Relays after such a beautiful day.”
