This past Wednesday, Blair' indoor track team opened their season at a track meet hosted by the Hill School. The Bucs concluded the event on a high note with the boys and girls 4x400m relay teams both winning by a comfortable margin. Individual event winners were Nick Rocca '25 in the 1600m, Madison Guiry '25 in the 400m, Isaac Greene '24 in the 800m (Petr Panchenko '24 finished second behind him), and Brian Liu '23 in the shot put.
Other notable performances came from Maggie Antosek '25, who ran 5:51 in the 1600m to place 3rd, Petra Taylor '24 and Ivy Gore '24, who placed 2nd and 3rd in the 200m, and Grant Krueger '24, who placed 3rd in the 200m.
On Saturday, the team traveled to the NYC Armory for the Jim Mitchell Invitational. Two extremely impressive performances were made by the Bucs. One was from Isaac Greene '24, as he won the 1000m in a PR of 2:34.6, and he also finished second in the 600m with a PR of 1:26.8. Petra Taylor '24 won the 600m in a PR of 1:42.7. Additionally, the boys 4 x mile relay finished third.
