The varsity softball team defeated Kittatinny 5-4 in extra innings this past Thursday, thanks to Temi Ogunyomade '24 hitting a walk-off fielder's choice in the bottom of the eighth. With an early lead in the beginning of the game, the Cougars were able to tie the game 4-4 in the sixth inning. However, the Bucs were able to persevere.
Mallory Allen '23 took the win for Blair on the mound. She pitched for two and a third innings and allowed no walks, runs, or hits. Additionally, she had two strikeouts. Mallory's younger sister, Faye Allen '26, was the starting pitcher for the Bucs. She had a dominant performance with eleven strikeouts and zero walks. Offensively, Mallory, Faye, Jocelyn O'Keeffe '24 and Clara Yan '24 each had multiple hits.
Next game for Blair will be this Saturday, April 22, as the team travels to The Hun School for a 2:30 p.m. game.
