The ski team competed in their second GS race of the season on February 2 at Winter4Kids. In a field of nearly 150 competitors, the Bucs fought hard and had very impressive performances all around.

In the girls’ division, captain Courtney Payne ’25 took fifth place overall after finishing first in her second run. Olivia Gore ’26 placed ninth overall, and captain Paige Celley ’25 followed close behind in 15th place. Tess Mella ’26 was only a second behind Paige in the first run, scoring 17th. Overall, while C.C. Boellhoff ’25 finished 28th overall. In her second varsity race ever, Yunha Hwang ’26 rounded out the all-varsity lineup in 29th place, less than a second behind C.C. With a team score determined by the four fastest overall times, the Blair girls walked away with an impressive third place.

On the boys’ side, ninth grader Fitz Kling ’27 had a third place finish in the first run, just ahead of captain Joon Park ’24 in fourth place. Both Matthew Chong ’27 and Thomas Zhao ’25 finished both runs and contributed to a strong total time for the boys’ team to finish ninth overall on the day.

The Bucs are determined to finish the season on a high note as the girls look to boost their team ranking from fourth to top three in the league. The boys are looking to crack the top ten once more and move on to states.
