Blair swimming traveled to The George School this past Friday. Despite being shorthanded due to illness and injury, Max Huo '27 and Arturo Lopez '26 represented the boys’ team admirably in their events.
The girls’ team delivered several standout performances, highlighted by a record-breaking effort in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Hannah Wilson '26, Calista Chen '28, Riley Bacinski '25, and Olivia Jastrzab '25 won the event with a time of 1:52.83, setting a new Blair Academy record.
Individually, Madyn Chomow '28 excelled in distance events, securing second place in both the 200 and 500 freestyle. Riley claimed first place in the 200 IM and the 100 Butterfly, while Olivia took first in the 50 Freestyle and placed second in the 100 Breaststroke. Hannah also had a stellar day, finishing first in the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke, where she narrowly missed breaking her own school record.
The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Bacinski, Jastrzab, Chomow, and Wilson capped off the meet with another first-place finish.
Despite these impressive efforts, the depth of The George School’s roster proved decisive. The Blair girls fell 74-96, while the boys’ team was outscored 16-90.
