Blair's track and field team competed in the NJISAA Prep A State Championships at the Peddie School this past Saturday. The highlight of the day was junior Isaac Greene '24 being crowned an individual state champion, as he placed 1st in the 1600 meter run and the 800 meter run. In the 1600 meter, Isaac earned a time of 4:18.41, six seconds faster than the 2nd place finisher. In the 800 meter, he earned a time of 1:58.27, only one second faster than the 2nd place finisher. Other notable performances for the boys were made by Patrick Payne '23, who placed 2nd overall in pole vault with a final height of 12'6".
For the girls', Ivy Gore '24 had a great day placing 2nd in the 100 meter dash and 3rd in the 200 meter dash. Petra Taylor '24 also contributed by placing 3rd in the 400 meter dash.
The next competition for the team will be on Saturday, May 13, as they will compete in the MAPL Championships at The Lawrenceville School.
