Blair’s depth and versatility were on full display throughout the day, with strong contributions from Ashton Brockington ’29 in the sprints, Matthew Jacob ’28 in the 1600m, and Brayden Yau ’27 in the 3200m.
On the girls’ side, Lola Bambe ’27 had an excellent championship meet, qualifying for the finals in the 100m before placing sixth overall and later earning third place in the long jump with a leap of 15’6.5”. Lea Myers ’27 added points in the long jump with a seventh-place finish and also competed in the high jump. Perla Swann ’28 delivered a strong performance in the 1600m, placing sixth overall in a competitive field.
In the throws, Anabela Simovski ’29 had a strong day for the Bucs, placing sixth in the discus and competing well in the shot put. The girls’ relay squads also competed with great effort throughout the day, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 4x100 relay and another fifth-place finish in the 4x400 relay to close out the meet.
A huge thank-you goes out to all of the coaches, officials, volunteers, facilities staff and families who helped make this championship meet possible despite the difficult weather conditions. Hosting a meet of this size is no small task, and our athletes represented Blair Academy with incredible toughness, sportsmanship and pride all day long. Go Bucs!
