The varsity boys' soccer team earned a 3-2 victory over the Newton Braves this past Wednesday, winning their first game of the season. Having not played since 2019, Blair played with high energy against an aggressive Newton squad. The game went back and forth with senior captain Etka Ayhan '22 scoring the first goal of the game. This was immediately followed by a goal by the Braves.
After the half, Ethan Anthony '23 scored off of a corner kick, giving Blair the lead 2-1. Newton quickly tied the score at the ten-minute mark in the second half. With three minutes left in the game, Etka Ayhan '22 scored off an excellent run to the ball, securing the win for the Bucs.
The next game for Blair will be on Sunday, September 12th, at the Mainline event against Black Rock Western Reserve at 10:15 a.m.
