Varsity Football opens up with dominating win against Capital Prep

The Blair Academy varsity football team had an amazing first game on Saturday, beating Capital Prep of Connecticut 44-8. After the two and a half hour bus ride, the Bucs were eager and ready to play. The game got off to a great start with Re’Mahn Davis '19 scoring a 61 yard touchdown in the first quarter and kicking the field goal to get the ball rolling. Davis was 6 for 7 in extra points. 

Blair could not be stopped. With touchdowns by seniors Tiheem Crocker '19 and Ryan Pasquali '19, new junior Sanoussi Kane '20, and Re’mahn Davis '19, the team entered half-time with a score of 34-0. In the second half, Ian Crosland '19 scored a touchdown and Re’mahn Davis '19 kicked a field goal to bring the game to a closing score of 44-8.

Other game highlights included senior David Ojabo '19 with three sacks, Re’mahn Davis '19 with three touchdowns (two rushed, one thrown), six field goals, and one interception. Two fumble recoveries by junior James Hinsperger '20 and sophomore Aaron Armitage '21, and senior Ryan Pasquali '19 scoring his first ever touchdown off of a pass from Re’mahn Davis '19.

The next game for the Bucs will be Saturday, September 22nd, against Wyoming Seminary at 2:00 p.m. at Blair Academy.
