This past Saturday, three Blair wrestlers traveled to Oklahoma State University to compete in Who's Number One, one of the biggest preseason events of the year. Hosted by FloWrestling, the event matches the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked wrestlers in the country in each weight class, and the winner claims the top spot. Blair sent Marie Sharp '28 at 130 pounds, Michael Batista '27 at 120 pounds, and Salah Tsarni '27 at 190 pounds.

All three Bucs faced tough opponents and wrestled with energy and grit to the final whistle.

Marie Sharp '28 went in ranked No. 2 and gave up height to her opponent, Emma Bacon, but still won a thrilling 10-8 decision. It was the first upset of the night, and it earned Sharp the No. 1 ranking.

Michael Batista '27 faced a familiar opponent in Brayden Wenrich of Northampton High School. Batista battled the whole way but came up just short in a 4-2 loss.

Salah Tsarni '27 won one of the most exciting matches of the day. He also went in ranked No. 2, and his match went to sudden victory, wrestling's version of overtime. Tsarni won 8-5 to take the No. 1 ranking at 190 pounds, then celebrated with a cartwheel and a backflip.

Blair is extremely proud of all three wrestlers, and we can't wait to see them in action at the first home meet this winter.
