This past weekend, Blair hosted the Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) wrestling championship.
The wrestlers went 4-0 against Mercersburg, Hill, Peddie and Lawrenceville.

Eric Bocanegra ’27, Mike Batista ’27 and Ellis Kirsh ’25 all had impressive performances, going undefeated against all four matchups. Joseph Schinder ’27 bumped up a weight class from 150 to 157 lbs. and got two pins on the day. Cael Mielnik ’27 also went undefeated, tallying four pins across his four matchups. Lastly, Ray Kawaji ’24 had two nice wins on the day, one being a sudden victory against Mercersburg, along with a pin.
All eight of the girls also had a strong showing in the championship. Victoria Carbonaro ’27 had a pin against Lawrenceville and Carolina O'Malley ’26 recorded a pin for the Bucs. Morgan Edwards ’24 had two pins on the day as well.
The Buc's next competition is Saturday, February 17, at Blair for the national prep qualifiers.
