1. Do you need tickets and are there a limited amount allowed per family?
Tickets are not required, but we do ask that you RSVP for the events being held that week. There is not a limit on the amount of guests. A form to RSVP for various events will be sent in the spring.
2. Can families reserve seats?
Seating is on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved. Please note that there will be plenty of seating for everyone.
3. Will commencement be available via Livestream?
Yes. Commencement will be available via Livestream. Please visit www.blair.edu/commencement for updated information.
4. What are the dress requirements for students?
For commencement, students should wear blue blazers, gray slacks, white shirts, conservative ties and appropriate footwear (including socks), or long or mid-calf, off-white or white dresses and appropriate shoes.
5. Are dogs allowed at commencement?
Even though Blair is generally a dog friendly campus, we ask that you do not bring your dogs on the day of commencement.
6. What events do most people attend during commencement week?
Parents are welcome to attend events beginning Tuesday evening. Most parents arrive no later than Wednesday evening. All family members and guests are welcome to attend commencement week events.
7. Where do I park?
You will be directed to parking areas once arriving on campus.
8. Is there parking and assistance for those with special needs?
Yes, there will be specific parking and shuttle transportation for anyone who needs special assistance. Please let the parking attendants know that you require handicap parking and transportation upon entering the campus. Handicap seating is also available. 9. Is there a professional photographer on site at graduation?
Yes. We will have professional photographers on site to take photos of every student receiving their diploma. Additionally, the photographers will be available to take family photos at Sharpe House before graduation begins and after the ceremony at the picnic. Parents can also take their own photos during the ceremony from designated areas. Please be considerate and avoid blocking the view of others.
10. Where do I find the commencement photos that were taken by the photographer?
Many photos will be available of the commencement festivities on Blair’s website. You will also receive information from Highpoint Pictures, regarding purchasing photos of your child receiving their diploma and family photos.
11. Is there a specific time that my senior needs to be moved out of their dorm room?
Yes. All senior students must be completely moved out of their dorm rooms and ready to depart campus by 4 p.m.
