All In The Campaign for Blair Academy 2018-2025

Weber Hall is Home of Math Department

All six classrooms are in almost-constant use, yet our teachers are able to easily swap class locations based on needs for a particular lesson or assessment. We’ve already grown as teachers as we’ve learned to teach in different ways to optimize our use of the facility.

R. Latta Browse, Math Teacher

Blair math courses at every level now have one thing in common: They all convene in Weber Hall. Thanks to the fine arts department’s move to the Chiang-Elghanayan Center for Innovation and Collaboration and a summer-long renovation project, Weber is now home to Blair’s math department, and the newly centralized location is ideal for collaborative teaching and learning.

Adjacent to Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts, the hub of Blair’s vibrant performing arts programs, Weber Hall features six classrooms, first- and second-floor study areas and a departmental office that the 12 math faculty members frequent on a regular basis. Having all math resources in one place—rather than dispersed across four campus buildings as they had been for a many years—facilitates the exchange of ideas among teachers, as well as collaboration among students at every level, both in class and when they meet in Weber’s shared spaces for extra help.
