SHOW UP.

Blair lacrosse teaches a love for the game and encourages our players to show up both on and off the field.

Our team members have multiple development opportunities during the off-season to improve their game. Sunday clinics throughout the fall are focused on skill development, player-led practices during the winter focus on team unity and stick skill improvement while a full lacrosse program trip to Arizona during March break provides the opportunity to play against top teams before the season begins.

Blair competes in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) against some of the best teams in the country. In addition to MAPL schools, we compete against a host of public and private schools in the area. Many of our players go on to compete at the college level. We have sent players to Bryant, Navy, Lehigh, Vassar, Gettysburg, Amherst, Drew, Franklin & Marshall, Trinity, Colorado College, Middlebury, Lafayette, Tampa, Hartwick, NJIT, Catholic, and Bates.

Meet Coach Squillante

Mike Squillante will as an admission associate and head boys’ lacrosse coach. Prior to coming to Blair, he taught at Pope John XXIII Regional High School in Sparta, New Jersey, serving as a physical education teacher and assistant lacrosse coach for five years. Since 2016, Mike has also been active in the True Lacrosse club, where he served as senior director of True New Jersey and Pennsylvania Valley. His previous coaching experience includes working at Centenary University in Hackettstown, New Jersey, as an assistant men’s lacrosse coach; at Parisi Speed School in Sparta, New Jersey, as a performance coach intern; and as a strength-and-conditioning intern for Marywood University. Mike earned his BS in exercise science from Marywood in 2015 and has completed a number of master’s of business administration classes at Centenary University. We are thrilled Mike will be joining the Blair community along with his wife, Michele, and their two children, Henry, 2, and Christian, who will turn 1 later this year. 

Meet Coach Fogel

Anders Fogel joins Blair as a faculty member of the history department, JV boys' soccer coach, and the assistant varsity boys' lacrosse coach. Previously, he was the head varsity boys' lacrosse coach at the Vail Mountain School in Colorado, where he led them to win the 2021 Western Slope League Championship and earned Coach of the Year. In 2017, Anders served as the assistant varsity boys' lacrosse coach at New Trier Township High School, where they won the Illinois state championship. Additionally, he is a former three sport athlete at Hotchkiss.

Meet Coach Ryerson

Mike Ryerson joined Blair's science department in 2009 after completing his undergraduate work at the State University of New York College at Geneseo in 2009. He teaches physics and astronomy and is a coach of the boys' lacrosse team. Mike and his wife, Andee, are co-housemasters of Lock Hall, where they reside with their two sons.

The Blair lacrosse program was founded in 1972 and builds upon a number of ideals that have served Blair students well over the years. Blair's JV program is designed to grow and develop young players so that they will eventually feed into the varsity program. JV players range from those who are new to the sport to those who have been playing for many years. At practices, we work to develop players at every level of talent so that all progress and improve their game.

JV-level players are encouraged to attend the lacrosse program's spring break trip each year and participate in our many preseason activities. We are one program, both JV and varsity. Not only is it important for our young men to play with more experienced players, it is just as important for our varsity players to have the opportunity to mentor and set an example for our young guys.

At Blair, we push you to be the best you can be, and we look forward to having you be a part of our lacrosse program.

Meet Coach Neumaier

Language instructor Kurt Neumaier is a 2019 graduate of Lewis & Clark College, where he majored in classics with a concentration in ancient language and minored in religious studies. While at Lewis & Clark, Mr. Neumaier studied abroad in Siena, Italy, and spent several summers leading outdoor wilderness adventures that included whitewater rafting and rock climbing. Prior to coming to Blair, he worked as a substitute history teacher and librarian-in-training for his alma mater, The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Mr. Neumaier has also spent time working as a youth development associate at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Portland Metropolitan Area. At Blair, Mr. Neumaier teaches Latin, coaches boys’ JV lacrosse, and lives in Mason Hall.
