On the second floor of the Center for Health and Well-Being, the Health Center provides Blair students with emergency and ongoing care, health education, and counseling on a wide range of topics, including nutrition, stress management, sexuality and substance use.
The Center is staffed by Director of Health Services Rosalyn Zamora, MSN, APN, FNP-C, along with a team of registered nurses and the school physician, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Blair's school physician, Leroy Nickles, M.D., an emergency medicine specialist, holds appointments on campus several days each week. In addition, Ms. Zamora, a family nurse practitioner, is available on campus throughout the week, supported by a full nursing staff who can evaluate students at any time.
Blair refers emergency cases to one of two nearby emergency departments: Lehigh Valley Health Network–Pocono in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and Newton Medical Center in Newton, New Jersey, located about 10 miles away and equipped to provide more advanced care if needed.
After the facility closes for walk-in traffic, a nurse remains in the Health Center and is available until it reopens each morning.
