Health & Wellness at Blair

About the Health Center

The Health Center provides emergency and ongoing care for all Blair students in the Center for Health and Well-Being.

The Center is staffed by Director of Health Services Rosalyn Zamora, MSN, APN, FNP-C, along with a team of registered nurses and the school physician, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Blair's school physician, Leroy Nickles, MD, an emergency medicine specialist, holds appointments on campus several days each week. In addition, Ms. Zamora, a family nurse practitioner, is available on campus throughout the week, supported by a full nursing staff who can evaluate students at any time.

Blair refers emergency cases to one of two nearby emergency departments: Lehigh Valley Health Network–Pocono in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and Newton Medical Center in Newton, New Jersey, located about 10 miles away and equipped to provide more advanced care if needed.

About Counseling Services

Blair provides confidential, short-term and solutions-focused counseling services to all students, addressing issues such as stress management, peer relations, family issues and academic struggles.

In the interest of achieving the best outcomes, Blair’s school counselors works with students to provide parents, teachers, advisors or other adults with information that might be helpful in supporting the student at Blair and in life.

The school counselors and other Health Center staff members can assist with arranging appointments with clinical psychologists and psychiatrists who contract independently with families and provide safe, private space for these meetings to occur.
