Current Organizations & Clubs

Gleaning is the act of collecting excess fresh foods from local farms and markets and providing it to those in need. By joining the Gleaning to Give Club, students can help eliminate waste in the local food supply while providing those in need with access to high quality, fresh food.

The purpose of the Healthy Relationships Committee (HRC) is to foster strong connections between Blair students, faculty and staff members through student activities and other programming. They work closely with their advisors and the Student Life Office to brainstorm, plan and implement activities that unify the Blair community, and reinforce the well-being of all its members. Healthy and long-lasting relationships are built on the principles of respect, empathy and gratitude which the committee works to elevate through their efforts. Students who sit on the HRC are self-nominated and selected by the School in the spring semester.

Students who show a penchant for understanding the financial markets take a deeper dive into the financial world as members of the Investment Club. With guidance from student leaders and a faculty advisor, participants broaden their knowledge of financial markets and develop and manage their own investment portfolios, as well as a collective portfolio for the entire club. The club holds regular speaker events and plans to participate in the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition.

This community-service club tutors Spanish-speaking students in nearby Newton, New Jersey, with the goal of supporting immigrants for whom English is a second language to get better accustomed to learning and living in the United States.

Students interested in mathematics have numerous opportunities to learn and solve problems outside of the classroom. Blair’s Math Club members attend competitions throughout the year such as the International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC) and the American Mathematics Competition (AMC).

Mock Trial Club participants study legal cases and participate in tournaments that simulate real trials, fostering the development of their legal expertise and providing hands-on courtroom experience.

At weekly meetings and two conferences that Blair attends annually at Cornell University and Columbia University, Model UN students learn the arts of global diplomacy and persuasion while they grow their writing, debating, public-speaking skills and have a great time!

The Personal Finance Club meets to discuss topics essential to maintaining economical stability in life: retirement funds, Roth IRAs, long-term investments, mortgages, taxes and more.

The Philosophy Club has been described as "a chill gathering place for people who like to think." In addition to focusing on engaging and entertaining philosophical discussions, debates on topics like stoicism versus Confucianism and movie screenings with deep themes, the club will work toward creating an educational "quote book" to educate middle school students and address harmful social constructs.

Comprised of enthusiastic students who share a love of all things botanical, the plant club not only sows seeds but also plays games to foster a deeper knowledge of the world of plants.

The Podcasting Club conducts monthly interviews with teachers or experts while also discussing significant news events, including notable sports victories, via podcast.

Project Esperanza members focus on improving the lives of underprivileged children from migrant families in Miluojiangpan, a rural Hunan village grappling with low employment rates. Through fundraising, support and educational programs, the organization aims to provide families with the opportunities and resources necessary to pave the way to a better life.

For those open to the challenge of tapping into their physical and mental strength, the joy of reaching the extra mile and the serenity found in the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other, the Blair Running Club offers students the opportunity to gather at least once every two weeks for scheduled group runs. All ability levels are welcome.

This club works to develop and facilitate community service activities for Blair and the community beyond. Regular activities include volunteering in the classrooms of a local elementary school, tutoring at a weekly after-school program, making fleece blankets for children in hospitals and gleaning produce from nearby farms for local food pantries.

The Blair Sneaker Club organizes shoe drives, raises awareness through the management of an Instagram account and periodically hosts charity raffles to support worthwhile causes.

Catering to soccer enthusiasts everywhere, the Blair Soccer Club provides an array of opportunities, including informal pick-up games on the turf and organized World Cup tournaments, ensuring that everyone can embrace their passion for the sport.

The Start Up Club is dedicated to helping students achieve financial independence early on. Through workshops, guest speakers and hands-on projects, the club seeks to garner understanding about entrepreneurship, financial literacy and diverse income opportunities, instilling in members the values of responsibility and resourcefulness for a brighter, financially independent future.

The Student Golf Association's mission is to make golf accessible for students not part of the varsity team and offer varsity players the opportunity to mentor those seeking to enhance their skills in the sport. By organizing diverse golf tournaments tailored for non-varsity Blair golfers and conducting swing clinics, the club aims to assist all students in improving their game.

The Sustainable Fashion Club is dedicated to addressing sustainability within the fashion industry, recognizing it as one of the largest contributors to environmental pollution and waste generation. This club's primary focus concerns understanding the industry, discussing steps that can be taken and empowering individuals to make personal choices that reduce their detrimental impact, while acknowledging the multifaceted and trade-off nature of sustainability in fashion.

This club enables students to engage with and gain knowledge from Blair Society of Skeptics guest lecturers. In pursuit of this objective, students will have the chance to interact with and accompany the Skeptic Speakers on tours of Blair, conducting interviews for a podcast.

The Theology and Mythology Club aims to connect current events with historical and cultural contexts, fostering discussions on global religions and broader life and death values, encompassing belief systems such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam and more.

Members of the Blair Weightlifting Club practice strength/resistance training with a focus on proper technique and compound movements. Experienced students are paired with novices in the hopes that more people will benefit from the physical and mental aspects of this sport.
