Vocal Music
A complete repertoire of academic study and performance opportunities comprises Blair’s lively vocal music program. Students of every experience level are welcome to join the Blair Academy Singers, the School’s main choral ensemble, which rehearses during the academic day throughout the school year. The Singers practice a varied selection of classical and contemporary works, perform at School events and concerts, and travel to venues near and far to share their love of music.
Elite vocalists are selected by audition for the Chamber Choir, a group of dedicated students who wish to pursue choral singing at the highest level. The Chamber Choir rehearses a challenging and diverse repertoire, and performs on and off campus.
Students may also pursue their interest in vocal music in private lessons and several academic electives, including, in recent years, Advanced Placement (AP) music theory, song writing and musical theatre.
